Lancôme Hypnose Mascara

I've never really had an "expensive" taste when it comes to make up, partly because I can't afford it, but always liked the idea of chucking out all of my old "tatty" make up & upgrading. I've always gone for any mascara, usually the prettiest looking at the more affordable price. After all anything pretty is easier on the eye, one or two of my friends have spoken about Lancôme mascara & say how they love it.
After Christmas brought me a few debenhams vouchers I thought I'd make the most of the money and try some new make up, originally going over to the Clinique counter, but after getting bored of waiting for one of the lady's for some help I decided to have a walk around, spotting an offer on Lancôme.
The stand full of different mascara & brushes caught my eye and I spotted a box near by with a sticker of £30 on! TWO Lancôme mascaras for £30. Usually these stand by the price of around about £21 each, I though this was the perfect chance to try what my friends thought was a make up essential. There were two boxes available, Hypnose Star & Hypnose Drama,
As I was shopping with Amelia (my little side kick) we decided to get one of each of the boxes
and have one of each, one star and one drama each!
At first I do have to admit I wasn't blown away by either of these mascaras once I had them on and even tried to double it up, I love the look of big bright eyes and at first I was a little disappointed, BUT after a couple of weeks now of using them daily I have fallen in love & could maybe only be using these in the future.
I love the look of Star, how the tube (is that the right word?) fits perfectly in your hand comfortably, it's light weight & isn't too in your face, it's little sparkle glitter at the bottom is so girly, pretty & sophisticated? The brush on Star goes from fat and chunky to think at the top & is to create "Show stopping eyes"

Hypnose Star
Intense Volume, Curled Lashes.
The Star eye-look by Lancôme. Create show-stopping eyes with our mascara and dual-sided brush leaves lashes looking volumised and curled. A “Black Diamond” shade dresses lashes in a deep and glamorous intensity.

This above is before adding the mascara to my eye, and is looking pretty dull and lifeless & like ive got no lashes at all, ive always been one of these "if you could only take one bit of make up on a desert island what would it be?" a foundation kind of  "gal" but after my Lancome experience, could be more of a mascara kind of girl, and this under neath is after, looking more alive and wide eyed, my lashes dont feel heavy or pull through the brush when being applied and is a nice natural looking mascara. I would 100% recommend treating yourself girls.

Drama was my other purchase of the day, in the two for £30 deal, & i love this one even more than star, and find myself reaching for this one more, this one is once again well presented with a comfortable tube to hold and its plain black look shows sophistication and class, the brush on this one is thicker from start to tip with a curve in the middle for "full and thicker looking lashes"

Hypnose Drama
Our curvaceous oversized brush gives full lash contact for dramatically full and thicker looking lashes…exponential volume in a single stroke.
You won’t believe your eyes

(All photos are taken on my iphone so appologies if they arnt so clear)

This is before adding mascara, my eye is once again looking bare and unloved & needs some of my desert island loving. Underneath you can see a massive difference, this picture was only taken a few minutes ago hence my little tierd eyes as i forgot earlier, one thing with these mascaras which im sure all you girls love doing is feeling your eyelashing big, bold and almost touching your brows, or is that just me? im overall in love with  my new purchases and give a massive thumbs up to Hypnose Drama which is my favourite from the two, i feel it gives a more dramatic and thicker fuller look which is what i personally like more. Again my lashes dont feel heavy when wearing this product which sometimes eyemake up can do. On the very bottem picture you can see a difference.... i used a differnt one on each eye haha,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready for another week at work, im going to see Rita Ora in Glasgow this week with a after party included (wooo) with two of my beautiful girls Jade & Amelia & will be doing a post at the end of next week about any buys i have and the concert!

Never too old for fun in the snow :)

After a day of watching the snow fall & instantly disappear from my classroom window with my wonderful little squirrels (I work in a nursery & don't have pet squirrels to play with just incase you were all confused by my one liner)
We were very pleased the pretty white stuff started to settle near home time, after a very scary 40 minute drive home.... Which would usually be done in 15 minutes, I had a very excited text off one of my beautiful best friends Amelia, with "Hurry home I want to play out xxx" . Now I'm not a big lover of snow as it usually is slush and grey horrible mush by the time I step outside in it, but this made me all giddy and excited!
I got my wellies out, doubled up on leggings and several pairs of socks on & had a walk up to the top end of my little town "Dalton" to Amelia's house, on the way I had to dodge several snow balls and propped myself up on a number of walls after slipping (all part of the fun right?) but I enjoyed my 10 minute little stroll, I was greeted with a big excited smile and a little red sledge.

She's such a cutie!!
After our little photo opportunity trying to make layers look attractive (nothing works for this), we set off on our mini adventure to a very very big mountain  hill,  taking it in turns to pull each other along the roads,

After being big babies for a while we finally raced down the hill one at a time, was so much fun. The better times were going down together, we went so fast and had such a laugh! Being big kids at heart has its perks, and having a group of best friends who are on the same wave length is a bonus too!! Have you had fun in the snow near you?

Jessica GELeration Nails

Going to run out of room soon!
Over the past couple of years I seem to have collected what could be seen as a very unhealthy amount of nail polish's, (so my mam tells me), every time I go into town, I seem to come home with a new bottle, it's got to the point where my friends rely on my collection rather than buy their own, which I am more than happy for them to do, I can't go a weekend without a new nice colour on my nails, working a 5 day week with the rule of "no nail polish or false nails" isn't fair on any girl.... Is it? Ha
I've tried my hand at acrylic nails & have done a number of my friends nails for practice, I've only watched YouTube videos to teach myself how to try and be a dab hand at nails but its become an obsession I enjoy. Getting more to the point....For my mans birthday I thought I'd treat her to a set of Jessica GELeration nails from a local beauty salon, after she'd come back she was really impressed with the process and look of her new Jessica nails. For anyone who isn't sure what these nails are they are basically a gel overlay onto the natural nail to help weak, bitten or problem/broken nails the chance to grow, this gel overlay can be a colour of your choice from a wide range & can last up to a long lasting three weeks with not so much as a chip or dint, as your nail grows your colour grows with it, so it's either get them removed or pay to have them redone, In the local salon they were offering this treatment at £25 a time which, to me sounds quite a hefty price for a part time worker like myself Haha, even though these nails lasted my mum almost 3 and a half weeks before needing filling, £25 a month seems a bit excessive?. I then had these treatment done by my Auntie with a clear coat gel with a similar process called "Red Carpet Nails" these we're again a gel overlay and were to stay on chip free for weeks, I was disappointed as by day 4 of having my new red carpet nails, two of my nails snapped!, my nails are extremely weak after a set of acrylics being bitten off ready to go back to work over the Christmas period (Yes I know very naughty to bite them off). My mam was desperate to have her jessica nails back on and researched online how much an essentials kit would be to buy! We were both shocked to find a brand new unopened kit on eBay for just £68, this may seem a lot to some people but for the amount of 3 weeks nails you would get from this sounded pretty good to us, so we made the decision and went halves!
The kit arrived last week & we had our own girly pampering weekend with super nice shiny nails!
Almost everything we needed was supplied in this cute little professional looking box with a set of easy to follow laminated instructions! The uv light isn't supplied with Jessica nails so we borrowed the light off my Auntie (Thank you Auntie J if your reading :))

As you can see my nails before we're pretty awful after my "do" with acrylics but afterwards the difference is definitely there, even though this was a first attempt I don't think it's too bad and look forward to experimenting with different colours. I understand this post is extremely long and I have rambled on a lot! Haha sorry about that!! I love this blogging "thing" already!!

Hello Blogging World

So this is all very new for me & is actually a bit scary, I've been following blogs for a while now & find myself looking for reviews before buying make up & hair care products myself. I have a huge range of make up & hair 'things', in fact two whole draws are set aside in my tiny bedroom just for my obsessions ( I can tell I'm going to be a rambler already) so with persuasion from a few of my beautiful best friends I've decided to give blogging a 'whirl' for a while to see how it goes! And this also gives me the perfect excuse for more girly and pampering shopping sprees... Perfect?

2013 has given me a new look on how to approach things & as a New Years resolution, I've told myself to do what I want and think second, third, forth about what other people think, living in a small town, people talk and judge others far too easily, from the shoes you wear to the make up & hair looks you go for & even the music you listen too, I crave a city lifestyle, but leaving my family, friends and the sites of the Lake District tell me otherwise! (Big baby?).
This is my way of rambling on about my love for different things, sharing my best buys and not so great buys of the month, throwing in some laid back lazy posts of how the working week has gone too!
Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I'm not a great wiz when it comes to these kinds of things!
